Grants
Overview
The Lucius N. Littauer Foundation makes grants in the areas of education, social welfare, Jewish communal life and Judaica libraries and archives. Most of our grants are made to organizations in the New York Metropolitan area and in Israel. In addition, we are proud to continue to support various institutions in Mr. Littauer’s home town, Gloversville, NY.
Except in rare cases and longstanding commitments, the Foundation does not support religious activities and no longer provides subventions for the publication of monographs or exhibit catalogs.
The Foundation only makes grants to organizations with 501(c)(3) certification. Organizations based outside the United States must be affiliated with such an organization in order to receive support. We do not make grants to individuals.
How to Apply for Support
Application for grant support is by invitation only. The Foundation does not accept unsolicited applications.
If you wish to inquire about the possibility of grant support, please email Alan Divack (adivack@littauerfoundation.org) , our program director with an email describing the organization or project in no more than 250 words. You may attach a more detailed description of no more than two pages. We will review it and get back to you if we wish to invite an application. Because of the volume of inquiries, we are not able to respond to every request. Please be aware that only a very small percentage of such inquiries progress to the application stage.
